Happy Leap Year Day!

And it is Friday again...wow! And it is snowing again...wow!
I am so sick of the snow it's not even funny. I can't wait for spring.
I am still working on the Seraphina Shawl. We have determined at Crochetville that I suffer from what is known as Crocheter's ADD. I cannot concentrate on just one project at a time. Then I wonder why I am all stressed out about completing items that I have promised to make. So yesterday, I packed up everything that I had started (with the exception of the shawl) and put it into a bin. I have sworn to myself (and my cats) that I am NOT going to open that bin until my shawl is done.
So now, I have been working on the shawl off and on all day. While doing laundry, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, taking the garbage/recycling out, bring the recycling/garbage bins back in, etc...well, you see where I am going with this...not alot getting accomplished on the shawl today.
Kainnon is off for his last snowboarding night tonight. Scott is having a nap right now. Tonight we are going to watch American Gangster. Maybe then I will get some crocheting done. Maybe!

I couldn't wait to use the beautiful cotton that my Kitchen Swap partner sent me.
The first one is made from Bernat - Sunkissed Ombre
The second is made from Bernat - Tie Dye Stripes
And the third is made from Bernat - Potpourri Ombre
I love these colours...they are awesome.

Whew...finally caught up on picture taking

What I have been working on over the weekend

Baby boy blanket for March's charity blitz
Baby girl blanket for March's charity blitz
Some newborn hats (which have been specifically requested) for March's charity blitz on Crochetville

Kainnon and I went down to my parent's place for dinner yesterday. We also went to a friend of my dad's place to pick out DVD's that we would like. We came home with a tonne of DVD's. Which is good because when there is nothing on TV I don't always feel like going out to get a movie.
I did make some progess on the Seraphina shawl for myself while Kainnon was having a swim and a hot tub at the parent's condo...LOL

Enjoying the peace and quiet...

Well the dogs woke me up at 7 am today, they wanted to go out. The plus side of that is noone else is up yet. I love the peace and quiet first thing in the morning when noone else is up and about.

I have just sent angelfire an email signing up for the Travelling Hook III. I have missed the first two and am really looking forward to this. Jimbo has donated the hook yet again http://jimbosfrontporch.blogspot.com/ you can see the details on the Travelling Hook III here http://travelinghook3.blogspot.com/

Right now I am working on March's charity items and on the Seraphina Shawl still. Gonna get myself another cup of coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet because it's not going to last much longer...LOL

Friday already????

Wow, I can't believe it is Friday already. I've just been kind of puttering around crochetwise.

Had a dr's appt yesterday then went to lunch with my mom. That was nice.

This is what I am working on right now. It is a Seraphina Shawl.

This is a close up. I just love these colours. The yarn is Bernat Berella "4". The colour is Terra Cotta Mist.

Yesterday I received the flannel squares that I won on Ebay. I am going to Edgerydoo them and then join them to make baby blankets. I have separated them into "boy" colours and "girl" colours.

I have also started crocheted for Crochetville's March Charity for the Blitz. In March we are donating to the Baptist Hospital of Jacksonville FL. I am going to be making baby hats and blankies. I am almost done my first hat with many more to come. Well that's it for now. Happy Crocheting!!

And remember, live for God's approval, not man's.

Dear Tracy Jennrich,

Casting Off the Cold would like to thank you and each of your fellow crafters at Crochetville for your donation of all of these beautiful handmade hats, scarves, blankets etc.

It was quite an honour to us to be chosen as your charity for January, 2008. We certainly appreciate your generosity and the time all of you took from your busy days to support us. It is only through the help of wonderful people like you that we can make a difference for those in need.

We know that everyone who receives these items will be very happy and proud to wear them.

Many thanks, and keep up the good work. We hope we will be able to share more of your beautiful work in the future.

Thanks again and have a great year!!

Another close up of a completed Secret Pal gift.

Relaxing tonight kind of

I kind of took it easy today. Not too much crocheting. I have made 2 things for my Spring Secret Pal on Crochetville. I am working on another surprise for her that she said she would love. I also have something else in mind. I love these swaps...they are so much fun. Obviously I can't post pictures until I send the package and it is received....but I will post pics eventually.

Not much else new here. Just trying to finish the swap items and then back to charity crochet. It is nice to take a break from baby blankets, hats and scarves for a while and make something challenging.

What a fun day!

I finally got to meet Sally and Pat from Casting off the Cold and handed off the January Charity Blitz items from Crochetville. 220 items total. I also donated 3 more baby blankets for Project Linus.

We chatted about some ideas as to what charities we are going to be donating to. We had some tea and snacks and generally had alot of fun.

I need to do some internet research to find some contacts for donation drop offs in Aurora.

Uh oh, 6:00 pm...dog feeding time....more later.

Excellent Crochet Day

Well, I actually managed to get quite a bit done today.

I made these two squares for Lea (a fellow Crochetvillian) who has been diagnosed with cancer. They will be winging their way to FL for Donna to put together with the other squares for a big flower hug for Lea from her friends at the 'Ville...who are fighting cancer with hooks.

I made these hats for Casting off the Cold.

And I even managed to break out my new 365 Pattern Stitches a Year and make these 3 rectangles for the Warm up America/CAL on Crochetville.

Depending on the weather tomorrow, I am meeting with Sally from Casting off the Cold to hand over the Blitz items from January.

What a wierd night!

So I finally get home from picking my son and his friend up from skateboarding and I sit down to watch TV and to make some squares for the Spring Secret Pal Square Challenge and boom! the power goes out. So I manage to find my lighted crochet hook and sit down the crochet and the power comes back on....just a really strange night. I did manage to get these 10 squares complete. They will be in the mail this afternoon.

Hm, been a few days

Wow, I haven't posted on here in a few days. Let's see, right now I am listening to a thunderstorm and hoping that it will stop so my dogs will stop freaking out....LOL

Crochet...I have been extremely busy crocheting for my charities. I have done 6 hats/3 scarves so far for the One Spirit Program in South Dakota. That is the charity that has been chosen for February. The packages are still arriving at my house from January's charity which was Casting off the Cold. Speaking of Casting off the Cold, I was contacted by the coordinator and asked if I would consider taking over Stouffville, Aurora and Newmarket. Of course I said yes. We make items for the homeless, as well as baby items for Project Linus and items for the shelters in the area.

Hopefully I can find some time tomorrow to upload some pics.
